Majra is a traditional rural village situated in the Hansi district, Haryana. The term “Majra” generally refers to
a small habitation or settlement, indicating that the village
may have originated as a smaller extension of a nearby main
settlement in earlier times.
At present, the village is led by its Sarpanch, Mr. Ajay Kumar.
Under his leadership, efforts are being made to improve village
infrastructure, including internal roads, drainage facilities,
and the maintenance of common public spaces for community use.
Socially, Majra has a peaceful and cooperative community
environment. The villagers are known for their simplicity,
unity, and strong sense of mutual support. Agriculture is the
primary occupation and forms the backbone of the local economy.
The fertile land of Majra supports the cultivation of wheat,
mustard, and seasonal crops. Farmers are hardworking and are
increasingly adopting modern agricultural techniques to improve
productivity. Animal husbandry also plays an important role in
supporting household income. Traditional festivals and social
gatherings are celebrated collectively, reflecting the strong
cultural values and harmony of the village. Majra stands as a
fine example of a calm rural settlement progressing steadily
towards development.
