Koth Kalan is one of the largest and most important villages in the Hansi district, Haryana. In traditional terminology, the word “Koth” refers to a secure or elevated settlement, while “Kalan” signifies a large village, highlighting its prominence in the area.

At present, the village is led by its Sarpanch, Mr. Umed. Managing a village of this scale is a major responsibility, and under his leadership, special focus is being placed on the development of playgrounds for youth and the expansion of digital facilities to support modern governance.

Socially, Koth Kalan has a highly energetic and progressive community. The village has contributed many notable personalities in the fields of education and politics to the region. Agriculture forms the backbone of the local economy.

The fertile land of Koth Kalan is often described as “gold-producing soil,” yielding excellent harvests of cotton and food grains. A strong canal irrigation network supports farming activities. Culturally, the chaupal culture is the heart of village life, where collective discussions and decisions take place. The youth of Koth Kalan actively participate in traditional sports such as kabaddi and wrestling, bringing recognition to the village across Haryana.
