Dharamkhedi village, as its name suggests, is considered a land of dharma
(righteousness) and tradition. The name is derived from 'Dharma' and
'Khedi' (small settlement), reflecting the villagers' religious inclination
and adherence to virtuous practices. Currently, Mrs. Neelam Rani serves as
the Sarpanch. Under her leadership, significant improvements in cleanliness
drives and government school facilities are underway.
The social environment of Dharamkhedi is very pious and simple. Religious
sites and ancient temples form the spiritual center of the village. Agriculture
is the main economic activity, with fertile soil supporting abundant crops
of wheat, paddy, and mustard. Farmers here are keen to adopt modern farming
techniques. Animal husbandry forms the second-largest economic pillar, with
high-quality dairy cattle renowned throughout the region. Socially, the
village maintains strong unity and mutual support. Women are also advancing
towards self-reliance through active participation in self-help groups.
